Brianne West

Founder of Ethique - the world’s most sustainable beauty brand

Entrepreneur and biochemist, Brianne West, is the Founder of Ethique – a plastic-free, sustainable and cruelty-free beauty company that has, to date, prevented the manufacture and disposal of over 5 million plastic containers worldwide.

Whilst Brianne was at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, where she studied biology and chemistry, she learnt cosmetic chemistry and started her first business (a traditional cosmetic company) at the age of 19. At the age of 24, Brianne launched Ethique; the world’s first zero plastic, zero waste personal care brand.

Brianne has scaled the business without compromising on her core mission of purpose over profit and every Ethique product is still made using only sustainable, vegan and cruelty-free ingredients. Each year Ethique donates 20% of its profit to charity to support animal rescue, rehabilitation and environmental conservation. Ethique is also a certified B Corp and living wage accredited. Ethique is now distributed in over 2500 stores and e-commerce retailers (including Amazon) across the U.S, New Zealand, Australia, Asia and Europe.
