Chris Henry

Chris Henry is a rural GP and hospital specialist based in Kaikoura. He has been publicly acknowledged for his involvement in both the Christchurch and Kaikoura earthquakes, and in 2017 was awarded the New Zealand Bravery Medal for his rescue efforts at the collapsed CTV building.

As someone often confronted with grief and trauma in his role as a rural doctor, Chris has learned the hard way that admitting you’re struggling isn’t always easy. Now a passionate advocate for the importance in asking for help after difficult times, Chris reckons that fronting up to tough conversations is something we collectively have to prioritise.
