Farid Ahmed

Advocate for peace.

We all have a lot to learn from Faraid. A Homeopathic Health Consultant, voluntary teacher at the Al Noor Mosque, independent marriage celebrant and community worker, Farid is someone who has dedicated his life helping others. After being hit by a car in Nelson, Farid was forced to adjust to life in a wheelchair. However, that wasn't the last time his life would be marked by tragedy. On March 15, the Al Noor Mosque came under attack, and Farid's wife was among those who lost their lives. But, instead of turning to anger, Farid immediately offered forgiveness and love, a message he shared in the national memorial service held in Hagley park. Since then, he has become an advocate for peace, speaking at conferences all over the world.
